The ACC Value Champions program spotlights successful law department value initiatives and collaborations between clients and their legal service providers. The Champions utilize value-focused management practices to cut spending, improve budget predictability and achieve better outcomes. They represent varied industries and departments/firms of many sizes and employ an array of value levers. For ideas and inspiration, go to the Meet the Champions section to learn how their great results were achieved.

Nominations

ACC Value Champions have made great strides in controlling legal costs and have shared their value practices and tools to inspire others. By cutting costs, improving predictability and achieving better outcomes, you could be recognized as an ACC Value Champion.

Honors And Recognition

If selected, you will receive public recognition for your innovation and success. You'll receive media exposure, profiling on the ACC website, the opportunity to present your value initiatives as part of an ACC educational program and an engraved crystal "trophy." You will also join a cohort of ACC Value Champions that meets annually.

Demonstrate Your Leadership

Whether you achieved great results on a single matter, or over a multi-year, multi-dimensional effort, simply define the scope and duration of the project and provide your metrics and results in any or all three categories (costs, predictability, outcomes). For example, you can highlight results measured year-over-year, against an industry benchmark and/or any other relevant metrics.

The story is important. Briefly explain what management tactics you used (1,000 words). Innovation and collaboration (whether internal or among clients and firms or vendors) are also important, as is creating programs that others can replicate and are demonstrably sustainable. If you have employed tools, templates, or dashboards, please share them as well. The point is to share what works, so that others can follow your lead.

Eligibility

Law department leaders can be nominated (or self-nominate) for in-house team projects that did not involve law firms or vendors.

Law firms and legal service providers can co-nominate, along with their clients. Each nomination must include a corporate legal department.

ACC Membership or Sponsorship is not required.
